Alternatives to Coventry airport for your summer 2009 holidays

Now that Thomson have stopped flying from Coventry Airport (CVT), we thought it was time to start looking for alternatives for holidays and flights if you live around Warwick, Coventry or Rugby and the region. For flight only, you might want to have a look at Skyscanner - a great site for comparing flights and prices.

If you are interested in a package holiday from Thomson then you will probably be looking at flights from Birmingham (BHX), East Midlands (EMA) Luton (LTN).
Airport Parking costs vary by airport and depending how close to the airport terminals you want to be. It's worth pricing the cost of airport parking into to your total holiday cost.
Have a look at BCP for parking options including hotels with parking if you are looking at flying from further afield such as longhaul from Gatwick (LGW).

Now that the Euro is at record high levels versus the battered pound you might be better off with a UK holiday, but if you don't fancy your chances against the weather then
non € Euro destinations that might tempt you might be Egypt, Dubai (fly Emirates from Birmingham), or South Africa (15 rand to the pound now, compared with around 12 18months ago).
You can fly direct to Cape Town or Johannesburg with Emirates from Birmingham with Emirates.
