Paris, the City of Light

Paris is arguably the most romantic city in the world. Set along the River Seine, it owes its name to early Celtic settlers, the Parisii river traders. Come to see the iconic Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame Cathedral, art treasures in The Louvre and to stroll in hilly, romantic Montmartre. The royal Versailles Palace and chateau-studded Loire Valley are also within easy reach of the capital.

Paris is the cosmopolitan capital of France and - with 2.2 million people living in zone 1 (Central Paris) and another 9.9 million people in the suburbs (la banlieue) - is one of the largest cities in Europe. Located in the north of the country on the river Seine, Paris has the reputation of being the most beautiful and romantic of all cities, brimming with historical associations and remaining vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design. Dubbed the City of Light, it is the most popular tourist destination in the world.

One of the other main pull factors to Paris is Disneyland Paris. It's advisable to book online as there is a variety of special offers on Disney tickets, hotels and packages.
